I would much rather have any Springfield than a Glock.
Maybe with the next CEO.

I'll take their 1911 over ANY striker fired plastic junk out there for sale.I would much rather have any Springfield than a Glock.

Slightly off-topic, from how far do you shoot steel with it?Company politics to the side my 1911 loaded in .45 adj sights, 2 # trigger can put to shame any 1911 high end just from factory nothing was needed.
Same pistol on 9 mm close enough, to make me happy on steel challenge week ends.
Just keep a good grip on it...Guess that leaves Sig??
You forgot one... AKs because they're commie guns used to kill Americans during wars... Pretty soon we're not only going to run out of firearms that it's okay to buy, but we're also going to run out of places we can go, shop at, and do business with as well... If we were to compile a list of places we're boycotting now on top of gun companies, the thread would be several pages long.So lets summurize.
No SA cause someone made a bad mistake
No SW cause they put the internal Lock on revolvers
No Rugers cause Bill was a jerk
No Glocks cause they are plastic made in Austria
No Remington/Marlin cause they just suck
No Colts cause they go bankrupt every few years and will not make Civilian ARs
Can not buy any guns made in Turkey
Taurus is well you know
Guess that leaves Sig?? Not sure if they screwed up??
As usual.... the 2A community is very quick to eat it's own alive.
Yeah, right. So tell me, then: what makes firearms manufacturers any different than any other companies that are in business to make profits? And just how many gun companies have we (their "base") put out of business by talking crap about them on the internet and calling for boycotts because they are a business and their executives said something stupid?Incorrect. The 2A community is very quick to police it's own. If you are going to be a gun manufacturer selling out your base, you'll pay in dollars and reputation. Gun owners have long memories. Even price gouging companies like Sportsmans Guide and Cheaper than Dirt have certainly felt the impact of their poor decision making from the past. Boycotts are effective tools outside the firearms realm, even more so within. The beauty of it is sellouts, gougers, and cheats are quickly and readily exposed. If that means eating our own alive, call me a cannibal because I love a good boycott and the righteous bash-fest that usually accompanies it. Wal mart cough, Dicks, cough.....
Springfield Armory‘s actions were more like a dog biting my child.Getting upset when businesses act like businesses is like getting mad at your puppy for acting like a puppy and chewing up your slippers .
I bought my XDs45 before I knew much about this.
I was fairly new at the time and liked the grip safety and how it felt.
Since then I’ve become a huge fan of the S&W M&P 2.0s. Besides everything else, I love they’re made in the USA by an American company. It’s something I can’t say about Springfield.
So he can apologize all he wants. If he’s not making his products here, and there is an alternative that is that I like I won’t be buying his product.
Good luck with that. That ship has sailed, they already got the message from the community, and they apologized for something IMHO they really shouldn't have had to apologize for.I'm ready to forgive SA... after a few years of financial suffering on their part to drive the point home that our community does not take kindly to what they did!
Same here... I actually believe the people who are constantly beating this dead horse is having the effect of causing more people to defend and support Springfield vs turning people off from them...What! Don't you know about the S&W "sell out" to the Clinton administration?

Hey we all are no longer allowed to purchase by opinion of the gun owner masses S&W, Colt since they ended the AR sales, and Springfield !
I personally will continue to buy all of the makers however, not gonna rebel over it

Nope.
If you are from IL and are/were closely following firearm legislation(we've been fighting the antis forever in IL and everything we have gained has pretty much been by court order after very long battles) then this stung us pretty hard as SA happily threw us under the bus to save their carve out.
It is too hard to forget. We are losing the right one little chip at a time already, when a firearms manufacturer helps them achieve that, then they deserve any pain they are feeling.
Yep, illinois is different from a lot of other non-2a friendly states. The population of chicago is close to the same size as the rest of the state. They turn this state upside down and everyone here pays the price with regulation, taxes and threats of disarmament so for me as an illinois resident take it personally when a major company like SA bends to please the antis and then realizes they just bit the hand that feeds it. By my estimation SA thought that only illinois residents would be affected and illinois is already a lost cause, they would chance the market outside illinois would not notice. That makes the most sense to me.Nope.
