Greeting everyone,
Just need some opinions on a scope I'm looking at.
It's a Springfield Armory Professional 4-14 x 56 mm AO Scope (Gen 2).
Brand new in box for $469.99
I'll mount on a Sig Arms SHR 970 in .300 Win Mag. I've looked up some material on this scope and a little confused by one of the features. Description from Cabela's web site (not where I'm looking to buy):
Springfield Armory Riflescopes
These severe-duty telescopic sights meet the most extreme-performance demands of hunters worldwide. Each model incorporates features needed to provide the ultimate tactical sighting system, such as rapid hands-free rangefinding, patented internal-bubble level, quick adjust eye-piece focus, advanced parallax elimination and the Dura-Lokâ„¢ positive repeat windage/elevation system. Lenses are treated with a proprietary multi-layer lens coating, enhancing light intensity while maintaining sharp optical clarity and clear target image. All Springfield Armory patented reticles are ballistically matched to popular hunting calibers. Guaranteed waterproof, fog-proof and .50-caliber shock-proof. Springfield professional optics are backed by a lifetime warranty and deliver the same rugged reliability you've come to expect from Springfield Armory's legendary firearms. Scopes have a matte finish.
The statement : "All Springfield Armory patented reticles are ballistically matched to popular hunting calibers"
Not sure what this means. If I get one, does it mean that they have a reticles for each caliber? I know it has to do with the rangefinding reticle, but when I look at web sites offering this scope, none ask for caliber I'm using.
Any info or opinions on this scope is much appreciated.
Thanks to all,
JMS
