Springfield EMP Compact 1911
Anyone have one of these?
I'm thinking of getting one.
How reliable is it?
Any misfeeds, other problems?

Thanks,
Tim

I have the 9mm version. Reliable and accurate as can be. Never had a FTF or FTE of any kind. I did switch out the ambidextrous thumb safety for a lefty as I don't like the ambi for a CCW.

I have an EMP 40. Tightest gun I have ever own. No play what so ever in slide to frame fit or in barrel to slide. Must be all hand fitted.

First three magazines full it would not lock open on an empty magazine but now it does. Only had one failure to feed and that was on my second foray to the shooting range and I had not cleaned the weapon yet. Also it was the first round in the magazine and don't think it was seated completely. Otherwise it works just fine.

Very nice fit and finish. Mine has a tight chamber and will not take sloppy reloads, but it runs 100% with anything that passes a case gauge. Really nice guns.

I would look at STI's compact 9MM offerings as well.

I had a nice one in 9mm and a buddy of mine talked me out of it....Been looking for a good used one every since. Never had a problem with it and it carried like it wasn't there!

yep, have one. it gets carried in a VMII daily. added Horned Lizard grips. have an Ed Brown thumb safety (no need for ambi) and a 10-8 flat trigger on order.

the only problem that i had was a tight extractor. a little adjustment, and no problems since.
