Hi,
Just started on THR today. I have been looking for a discussion group on the Springfield XD pistols but haven't had any luck. Can some one give me some pointers on this subject!

Pointers? What do you REALLY want to know? I like it its a mighty fine pistol with lots of stuff you can do to it. What size are you looking at?

Springfield XD 45

It is a 45 and I just can't say enough good about the Springfield line up. I really like the idea that it will hold a 13 round clip with one in the pipe. And that you can still handle the gun. I just didn't see many people discussing the weapon. And it seams that alot of aftermarket companies do not have things for them yet. Are they just too new?

I have the .45 tactical and the .45 service. They're both great guns and very accurate. No issues, no complaints. Springer precision does have some goodies out for them and does custom work on them as well.

Only problem I've had with mine was when I knocked the FO out of the front sight when I was shooting under a barricade. That's what I get for making fun of the lady who shot in front of me, and hit her rear sight.

I handled one at a gun show this past weekend and I was very impressed, personally I would get the tactical model with 5 inch barrel. They seem to come highly regarded in various reviews, with little problems.

Among my hand guns, including a few 1911s, I have an XD.45 Service. The only problems I've had are that it eats ammo with alarming regularity and can keep my humble village poor.

When I was looking for a strictly ccw the XD45 was a little large for me to hide. This was before they came out with the compact version. I traded it off for an xd40sc but I wish I would've hung on to it for range and night stand duty. Nice weapon.

welcome to THR.

there isn't mush to say they are sa xd's. they are great, they are reliable, accurate, tuff as nails, and they run and run with out a hitch after many many thousands of rds.

btw www.xdtalk.com is a great place to look for info on the subject.

there are lots of happy satisfied xd owners, and i am one of them and i own 2 xd's and i will own more in the future.
