Depending on what you're going for, championships, what have you, regular CZ's are as accurate as they come, far under $1000.

I would say get an EAA Witness Match for target shooting. But from that list, i would pay the extra for the CZ. Im just not a big fan of Glocks or XD's

For target shooting only? Get the cz sp01, it's proven itself in many competitions, specifically the ipsc world shoot. you have many choices there. standard, tactical, shadow or phantom. the standard has manual safety, while the tactical has a decocker. the shadow was designed for ipsc competitions, basically a souped up version of the standard model. the phantom has a polymer frame and lighter than the steel variants, but has the the same performance, though better in target transitions for me.

finally the current world shoot champion in production division adam tyc and third placer angus hobdell both used cz sp-01. dave sevigny placed second, i think he used glock, i just don't know what model.

A vote for an Armalite AR 24 (CZ). The "tactical model" has nice sights, and I like the weight when I am target shooting. I am not sure I want to carry the weight, but for target shooting, you ought to give one a look. It's sort of an upmarket CZ 75 B (think Camry vs. Corolla, or some other dumb analogy).

Lubbockdave I live in Lubbock also.Randy Ward at West Texas Military is a good guy to deal with.I have bought a lot of guns from him.I love CZ I have eight pistols and four rifles. The 75B series fits my hand like a glove and shoots great so I would figure the Tactical would be great.I have the XD 45 Tactical I just got from Ward.I love this one too.I have had the Glocks they are great guns but do not fit my hand or shoot as well as the XD or CZ.I go to Rustic ever weekend nearly so holler and I will let you shoot the CZ and XD.I think the Witness would be great by what othertell me that have one.I just like the real deal not just a copy.I do know the Witness feels great I would buy one but really do not need one now.i would like to shoot it I now by the way CZ shoots it probaly would not shoot any better.
Let me know

The Armalite AR-24 is a clone of a clone, the ultimate compliment. Made in Turkey by Sarsilmaz, a former distributor of Tanfoglio of Italy, who in turn has made a clone of the CZ75 for years, marketed here in the US under many names, latest being the EAA Witness.
I have heard the AR is a good solid sidearm.

1.) CZ
2.) XD
3.) Glock

That is my personal preference, which also mirrors which guns I am most accurate with from most to least.

Love my CZ's

lubbockdave, having fired all three of those guns, the TS for a range gun was superior for me. The CZ TS does not fire anything like the 75b or SP-01, both of which I own. While the 75b and SP-01 are made both for combat, the TS is meant for sport shooting. It has a very heavy steel frame and nose, and it is probably one of the easiest, softest shooting guns. the trigger is very light and breaks clean without any trigger work. the 75b models need some work to smooth out. the xd tactical is easy to shoot, but the trigger is not nearly as good as good as the TS. the glock i have a hard time firing accurately. not to say the gun is not accurate, i just cant get the trigger pull on the glock down and i do not like the grip feel and slide position on the glock either. so if i had to pick, TS by a long shot, CZ, then the glock. for a range gun, the TS is hard to beat. that said, i have a tricked out sp-01 and it is just as easy to shoot and accurate as any gun i have ever fired.
