I bought an SR45 a few weeks ago and got to the range twice with it soon after.

It is nice, the trigger seems a bit longer and heavier than my SR9c. It shot low and to the left, but the sights are adjustable. Overall it's very easy to shoot and handle. It's a little large, but I knew that when I got it. It carries very well in an IWB holster due to it's light weight, but it is very hard for me to conceal.

I had 100% reliability with handloaded Ranier 185g Truncated cone bullets and with 230g Speer Gold Dots. I had 2 failures the first day with Federal 230g FMJ ammo, both were stove pipes. These are the rounds with the small pistol primers.

The second day out I had only one failure, again with the small primer Federals. Once again the Ranier hand loads and the Speer Gold Dots had no failures.

I took the gun apart for cleaning after both outings and I can't find any obvious reason the Federal ammo won't work. It's possible the ammo is faulty, I noticed a lot of unburned powder with that ammo. Maybe the small pistol primer isn't a good idea. I'll try some reloads and see if that's the case.

I didn't test accuracy. I have astigmatism and I was shooting off hand.

One interesting tidbit, the SR45 fit into a belt holster that I made for my P345, so it is likely that the SR45 will fit other holsters made for the P345.

Overall, I'm happy with the SR45, but if I have any more reliability trouble I may change my mind. So far I have 350 rounds through it and only 3 malfunctions with one type of ammo. Since my arm was covered in unburned powder after shooting the Federal ammo I'm blaming the ammo.

Its the ammo.Your other ammo worked fine.Today's ammo quality is suffering due to the ammo shortage.

You should contact Federal and complain. Except for the few premium rounds I test when I replenish my center fire defense ammunition, I don't shoot factory.

But given you're experience, especially if you have pictures of all that unburned powder, Federal may make it good. They may not, but you'll never know unless you ask.

I picked one up over the weekend. It eat 50 rounds of crappy ole wolf no issues, followed up with 30 rounds of HP reloads. Then another 10 Corbon +p and 10 of PDX. Total of 100 rounds without the first issue.

I carried it fishing Sunday evening in a pancake GP holster, not your easiest pistol to CC but hey it'll do.

Accuracy was pretty impressive with the Corbon and PDX.
