Hello everybody,
Stag arms strikes me as a decent company, and im currently viewing an auction for one on gunbroker, and i was wondering how they stack up against some of the "big guys" in terms of quality. I'm not fighting WWIII (hopefully), so i dont need it to be a colt 6920, but i dont wanna buy a crap gun either. Anybody had any personal firsthand or secondhand experience with them? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
DS:D

Technically they are the big guys. Stag arms parent company is Continental Machine and Tool. They have been making parts for AR's since the Viet Nam war. Most AR manufacturers use their parts. They finally decided to make their own AR's too. I have the model 6 Varminter and it is a tack driver.

I was planning on getting a model 6 also before I was laid off 2 weeks ago. I did a lot of research and settled on Stag. The top three things that made the decision:

1. Guaranteed to shoot 1/2 MOA with high quality factory ammo
2. Lifetime warranty
3. They are all made in house with their own parts, not pieced together like some other brands.

Maybe once I get another job and get some money saved up, I will buy one if there isn't a AWB in place by then.

It's hard to beat the fit and finish on a Stag. My experience with them has been great also the tolerances on the lowers are tight. The Ones I have delt with had so little play in the recievers it was like it had a Accuwedge already in it.
