Standardizing on Glock 9mm.....

I do so enjoy a Glock love-fest thread. (Wait, what forum am I on right now?)

No, I'm not here to disparage Glocks.

We're talking concealed carry or home defense only Glocks, right?

So after carrying handguns for the past 44 years, I have decided that the only two Glock pistols worthy of my consideration (yes, I am an arrogant snob, as a matter of fact) are the 19X and the 43X. No finger grooves. A nice grip angle. Lightweight. Meh triggers, but good tactile/audible reset. Accurate. Reliable. Both can be concealed most effectively at 3 o'clock, 3:30 or 4 o'clock OWB in a decent high-rise pancake, the 43X is a great IWB option. In fact, the 43X might be the sweet spot for those in states mandating 10-round or less magazine capacity (although the 48 has a lot of fans too). 19X is a great dual-role pistol (home defense, concealed carry) for those on the capacity bandwagon. Both can be had with surprisingly decent factory night sights. No, the mags are not interchangeable. But, they are my favorite (and only favorite) Glock pistols.

Funny thing happened when I got a Gen 5 19. Prior to that I had preferred the full size grip of the 17 because of the finger grooves, then eventually the 19X because I like the shorter barrel. Didn’t really see the point in another 19 since it’s not all that much harder to conceal a 19X in most clothes I wear, and there are smaller guns for when I really need concealment.

But then I shot a Gen 5 19 and I’ll be darned if I didn’t just shoot it better than my 19X, and it wasn’t even close. Time passes and I have a few 19s and no longer have the 19x. Can’t explain it.

Better concealment is one of the things I am trying to do here, Hence getting the 26. Those 19's are nice though.

Yep, I get that. I believe I said, if it were me, I’d skip the 26 for concealment and get something like a Hellcat, Glock 43x/48 or 365xl.

For me, the thin grip conceals better than the far shorter grip, shoots better for me too unless I put a extended baseplate on the 26, which basically makes it a 19 anyway.

But that’s just me.

It should be mentioned - it's only available in green and has the 407K size window which a lot of people don't want on a non-micro pistol. I've shot the VP9 with the SCS that mounts directly and didn't like the small window.

To me, the Shadow Systems guns are the best for optics as they just bolt right into the slide, no plates required, and they come with the spacers/screws required for pretty much every optic out there.
I would like to know more. The optics is just one part of the package. Now the glock 19 for better or worse is a proven system with trigger pull that is not good. But it goes bang and all parts are widely distributed on the net. I would want to first see the shadow systems pistol that is similar to the glock 19.
Well the entire point of this is the lowest profile possible without the elevated sights for CCW. If you have astigmatism than green is the preferred dot color. I was worried about using green against a green foliage background and it is not an issue.

Comfort when sitting down is part of it. The shorter grip and slide for appendix carry inside the waist band is part of it relative to concealment and comfort for me.

I was able to pick up a Glock 26.5 today at the Mesquite, TX gunshow for a pretty good price. It came with the Glock night sights. I will not be able to take it shooting for a while because we are leaving on a 2 week vacation Wednesday. I am excited to finally grab one. Now I need a holster for it. Any suggestions for an IWB holster for a 26?

Joe
