One of my friends from work goes to Bowling Green State University in Ohio. He forwarded this to me, I was pretty surprised and impressed that they would do this.
BGSU offers concealed gun safety classes. The Ohio Concealed Carry Law goes into effect April 8. Ohio residents must obtain a permit to carry a weapon. Continuing & Extended Education is offering the 12 hours of required training in convenient evening classes taught b NRA/OPOTA Certified Instructors. The 10-hour classroom portion will cover safe handling and storage, safe ammunition handling, shooting techniques and laws relating to deadly force. Participants will then complete the two-hour range time requirement. Upon successful completion of written and live fire tests, participants will receive the required State of Ohio pamphlet and a certificate allowing them to apply for a permit. BGSU's Concealed Carry Classes meet twice a week for two weeks from 6- 8:30 p.m. Currently scheduled classes: Mondays and Wednesdays, April 19, 21, 26 and 28 Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 4, 6, 11 and 13 Monday and Wednesdays, May 17, 19, 24 and 26.
