I have been using Red Dot and Green Dot with great success.

I came across Steel powder and am wondering if anyone uses this - or how it compares to Red Dot or Green Dot.

Thanks

I use it behind steel waterfowl shot :D

Thats what its for.

I'm sure you could find some uses for it, but it was specifically formulated for use behind steel shot in shotshells. Low pressure pushing of high volume/lesser weight at high speed.

There is really no comparison to either powder you have, and it is HIGHLY unlikely to burn the same in a metallic cartridge as it does in a shotshell- so I''d be careful with that burn-rate table business.

Someone was on here the other day, trying it out for 357...I never did hear the results..:what:

Developed loads with it in 357, 41, 44, and 45 Colt/ACP. Basically start with Herco data and work up slowly. One caveat, haven't tried the ACPs in an auto, just my BH convertible. After finding midrange loads for those calibers, I pronounced it good and stuck my 4#s of Steel back for hard times, i.e., when I can't get Unique.

^^There's the fella that used the Steel. Thanks, I hoped I didnt imagine that.

I'd love that data !
