After looking at diagrams and videos around the internet, I still can't figure it out, so I figured I'd turn to the experts for help :D

THIS THREAD was very helpful, but I still seem to be having issues. I own the Model 15 (NOT -A or -B).

I have completely taken the bolt apart, cleaned it, and reassembled how (I'm certain) it's supposed to be. The problem is: when the action is worked and the cocking knob goes back, the trigger is pulled and nothing slams forward, it just stays where it is (in the back position). I can move it back and forth with my fingers, like there is no tension but there should be  I thought all parts were there, but now I'm second guessing. Nothing seems to be broken...

Is the spring in good shape? As far as the model, it doesn't really matter, it's the same bolt for all the Savage/Stevens/Springfield model 15, 120 and 125 rifles.

Yes, the spring is in great shape and has a ton of tension. It seems that once the bolt is in, the back part slides back and forth with no tension either way. Seems to me that it should have forward tension so that when the trigger is pull and the 'latch' disengages, the back bolt piece should slam forward, thrusting the firing pin into the head of the casing.
