Still buying or did you get what you needed?

I bought zero guns from June of last year until about a week ago. I purchased quite a bit of ammo between June and October before the prices ran up so I haven't needed anything this year. Now that prices seem headed back to normal I might actually go to the gun show next week and start shopping again.

I got more than I need, an ammo shipment came in from my FFL guy and at last count I've got amm of 2k of .357, 1+k of .38 spcl, 3k of 9mm, 1+k of .45 ACP, almost 1k of .44 magnum, 20k of .22lr, 1+k of 10mm, 1k of .40. And luckily I bought all that from being an NRA pistol instructor. Not to mention all the handguns. I'm not buying anymore guns, unless there is an incredible deal(i.e. like the Ruger P345 LNIB I got for $200 from a friend).

I'm waiting till I pass the bar next year, get admitted to the bar, get a good job and then I'll apply for my FFL out of the house I'm leasing to own that is zoned as an office. Once I get my FFL, get deals for my students at 10% over wholeseller(that's an incredible savings), then maybe I'll buy a Ruger Sp101, AR10, and do a SBS with the ATF authorization. I'm done buying just guns pretty much, now I want machine shop equipment to start turning out project guns.

Since April of this year and since it became legal for a permanent resident to own a firearm here in WA state, I have purchased 13 guns. I might slow down for now...unless a great deal comes along.:p

My binge was ammo and reloading supplies but that was all in July/Aug/Sept/Oct of last year. My goal was to have 10 years worth of components before Nov. I think I had 7 years worth. Since then I have picked-up another couple years worth but only at pre-Hobama prices.

I am always looking for certain firearms to buy though.:)

With the exception of a brick of large rifle primers, I've got what I need. I'm well stocked on powder, primers, and bullets for .223, 40 S&W, .357, and .308, good stash of brass too. My most recent gun purchase was a Mini-14, which rounds out my gun collection.

I don't have a need for anymore guns, but component's.....always!:)

I don't think I'll ever have my wants and as long as you have one reliable gun, that's really all you need. Nothing changed my buying habits with guns because I never say an increase in anything except for the price of ammo, which I'm glad I'm a reloader now.

I'm still buying (looking) for some stuff that is just now hitting the market. If Ruger comes thru with the rumored 20 round Mini-30 mags I'll buy another to have one for irons sights , the other scoped.

I had a general idea in the back of my head that I would build up enough ammo to go to the range weekly for a year and shoot my normal number of rounds each time. That's about 350 rounds of 22LR and 150 38 Special a session. I was just tossing a few boxes in the closet each week since the beginning of this year and not paying much attention to what I had.

I now have 4,700 CCI Mini Mags, 13,750 rounds of Federal bulk 22LR, 4000 rounds of Winchester bulk 22LR, and about 4000 rounds of Remmington 22LR.

I also have enough components to load 4000 rounds of 38 Special and enough primers/powder for 4000 more after that.

Guess I went a little over what I was planning. I just need to build up a supply of 9mm now since I expect to get one around Christmas.

Still buying......you'd think after 45 years of this a guy would have everything he needs.... (or is it wanted?)

I'm pretty bad about always wanting another gun :D

Bought one this week that I didn't need, but I couldn't pass up the great deal.

There is a wonderful S&W 9mm and .40 sale at Academy Sport & Outdoor and other S&W dealers around the nation.

Their sale of S&W Sigma SW9VE & Sigma SW40VE - says "buy a Sigma from Oct. 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009, and get either a mail-in $50 rebate OR 2 free magazines".

That meant at Academy my SW40VE cost me $279 out the door with a box of ammo.

There is a hard trigger pull on this gun, but some people actually like it that way.

I don't - but S&W will lighten it for free - and S&W will pay the shipping each way.

There were some problems with old Sigma's (5 to 10 years ago), but those problems have all been fixed on the new Sigma's.

I've shot mine and really like the way it handles = No problems with the new ones.

They are a great gun for $279 - $250 + tax for a gun w/lifetime warranty.

my firearms ammo and accessory purchasing will not end untill the day i can no longer pull a trigger

the list grew from a few simple firearms to well over $100k worth of guns on the wish list im realistic in the fact i probably will never own most of these guns but given the chance to buy any one on the list ill try and do so and thats gonna take a lifetime

haha hign even if i get the money for the wish list there will always be more i could find to buy id have to be bill gates to get EVERYTHING i would eventualy end up wanting lol

I didn't participate in the hysteria. I am a survivalist and had at least a 1,000 rounds of ammo for each of my weapons before the messiah ever thought about running for any office. I have bought 4 or 5 guns a year on average for many years and will continue to do so in future years. I will not give up my guns with out a fight.

Well, it sounds like everybody here is doing his part. The gun stores must be slow because of the "other" shooters, whoever they are. ;)

I've pretty much figured out what I like. The ones on my "to get" list are way too expensive for now. A Mannlicher-Schoenauer in 6.5 MS. A nice cape gun.

I inadvertently added to the whole post Obama buying frenzy, but not so much because of Obama. I came back to the states in early Jan 09 and bought a Sig 1911, Beretta 92, Springfield M1A, Rock River Arms LAR-15 in 22LR, Walther P22, M1 Garand, and just recently a Sig SG 556, plus plentiful ammo for those.

The frenzy seems to be dying down though, because I got the Sig 556 for $1525 and they were going for over $2000 5 to 6 months ago :D . Glad I waited on that one. I don't plan on buying anything more besides P-Mags, for the next few months. Then I'm leaving the states again for a little while. I have more stuff on my wishlist for after I get back though, including but certainly not limited to a reproduction Luger, a AK, and maybe a milsurp Mauser.

The messiah has nothing to do with my buying habits. Just bought another this week for my wife, a Ruger LCR-LG .38 +P, she fired it and doesn't like it. I guess I'll add it to my collection. Next weapon will be a M1 or a M1A.

I don't really want a huge collection of pistols. I have 8 maybe 9 serious must haves, and 5 of them I already own. I will be buying from Gunbroker or other sources most likely, not a local shop. The $200-300 saved will buy a lot of ammo.
