I've seen these advertised for a while now, and always thought they were a cute idea. Not terribly practical, but cute nonetheless.

Does anyone here have a Stinger pen gun? What do you think of it?

I'd want to try one before I would buy it, but it seems like a nifty novelty gun.

Stinger Pen Gun
Never seen one in person, but I've heard they're not bad as a novelty item. Considering the MSRP of $275, I think I'd buy a NAA Mini first. They're both cute, the mini may be a little more practical, but the stinger is more unique.

Hahaha....the "sniper" version....never seen that before. Always thought the Stinger was really neat. James Bond kinda thing.

They're made right here in Upper Michigan, in Souix Sault Marie.

Have a couple in a local shop. Dealer said the Sherriff's called complaining, saying they weren't in their reigstry (we have handgun registration in MI).

I remember ex-brother-in-law had a pen-gun. Don't remember the brand, used .25ACP ammo as I sort of vaguely recall.....

was about 2o years back

Local gunshop had one for around $250. Rather spend $220 on a naa magnum with conversion cyl.

I remember when they came out. I wanted one, but you needed the "chief" to sign for it and it was a no-go. :( Heck, nowadays give me a lathe and a spare bbl and I'll make it myself. Be happy to serial # it too just to keep Los Federales happy. 4v50 #1.

Gary,
The Stinger Pen Gun is actually legally considered a handgun, I think. It doesn't fire from a "pen" shape, it bends out into a more conventional "pistol" shape before firing.

Just walk away...

If I had the pen then I'd end up wanting the stapler that converts to a bazooka and the Kevlar, tactical desktop calendar. I'd become entangled in an endless, sick cycle of always wanting more defensive office supplies. :D

cordex, you are correct, Braverman got the Class I classification for his design from ATF because it did not fire from the 'straight' position. I have a Braverman Pen Pistol made by American Derringer. The new company has renamed the Pen Pistol as Stinger, which was actually an AOW firearm that was a true pen gun made by Military Armament Corp (MAC) of Powder Springs, Ga. Mitch Werbell's outfit. I think the name change is because the new company is trying to get some brand recognition off the original.

These things were ALL over the last gun show I attended. I should have paid more attention to them. So, most of you would say they're of good quality? Nice conversation piece~~with other gunnies, of course. :)

stinger pen pistol

recently came across several stinger pen pistols by the stinger manuf. co NIB and was wondering if anyone has seen current pricing infor. regarding same?

5 years ago I owned one, neat little thing but it was loud! It was swiped out of my toolbox at work. Learned 2 lessons that day, never trust anyone and write down the serial numbers of your guns.
