Hi guys. I recently got a stock from Boyds for my Yugo 24/47 Mauser. I had to do some minor inletting to make the barrel fit. My first trip out to the range, after three shots, the stock split right behind the receiver. Is this fixable? Should I contact Boyds to see if they will replace it? Is it something that I may have done? The metal was really tight when everything went back together. What do you guys think.

If you didn't make the rear face of the recoil lug a tight, flush fit against the stock recess; and didn't leave some clearance between the rear end of the upper tang/rear receiver bolt/trigger guard, and the wood at the wrist - then the stock most probably split due to improper inletting.
That's provided that the stock didn't already have a crack, or check, there - As it's a natural product, and "stuff" happens.

It's fixable, depending upon how bad it's split, by slightly spreading the split and packing in some Gorilla Glue pre-mixed with some stock sawdust(to help hide the repair) and binding the split area tightly until dry.
