I'm SO GLAD I don't live there any more!

Hmmm, I got a kick out of the "Fingerprint Resistant Grip" comment. Obviously, the guy cant read the manufacturer's sales pitch. It's about that your fingerprint oils won't corrode the gun, not that the gun won't "record" your fingerprints.

I love dumb anti-gun folks almost as much as I love dumb politicians and criminals.

Be careful who you choose to stand behind and support. If you are unwilling to take care of yourself, you must take whatever care that comes along. I've yet to see a flock of sheep, no matter how well cared for and tended, that doesn't get fleeced from time to time and eventually end up on the dinner table. Not many sheep die a natural death. Tec-9s haven't been manufactured for like 10 years.

And look, they got a senile old Korean War vet to vouch for them, how... pathetic.

The vet clearly hasn't bought a gun in like 100 years. There have been background checks for the last 40 or so.

It's political grandstanding at its finest.

They are trying to require background checks for private firearm sales and the giving of firearms as gifts. This would create a law that would be unenforceable. It would also create privacy issues. How does one do a background check for a private sale? Do I call a number with the name and DOB of the potential buyer? Some people might find that intrusive having a background check called in on them without their knowledge for purposes other than actually buying a firearm. This has already happened with credit report. You want a job? Better make sure your credit score isn't too low. Now they want to make it so the employer can see if you are trustworthy enough for a firearm. Just call a 1-800 number and you will know if they've got a skeleton in their closet, perhaps even know if they already own a firearm.

I only fear that the sheeple won't think that far ahead until it's too late. Perhaps dollars will win over lack of sense and the background check system will be deemed too expensive to maintain at that level.
