is crap...

im tired of reading about 1 shot stopping power...

the only way to insure someone stopping is to physically incapacitate them...

and that would lie within accuracy not the type of round however some rounds are easier to use, and some cause more damage...

but it starts with accuracy.. if you cant hit your target your still up ****s creek...

ps i had to add something the best thing that i know of with stopping power is a samurai sword... its very simple just remove the head...

You have a gun that shoots samurai swords?

pfffft, woefully underpowered, you need a gun that shoots axes at least to have real stopping power!

or sledge hammers...
but yeah i agree accuracy makes all the difference i prefer 9mm, because i am able to get of twice as many rounds just as fast and accurate as i do with a 45 ACP one round of federal hydrashock is plenty of enough to incapacitate a BG if put in the right place. A bigger caliber is good when needed remember 9mm may expand but 45 doesn't shrink.

I think shoot whatever centerfire you are most confortable with.

When I went to the range today there was a girl shooting a .32 autoloader, and was keeping them inside of a silver dollar sized target. (While I was having a hard time shooting the side of the barn today)

That and something is better then nothing.

if the federal hydroshock expands then yes... with the ballistics tests we have done if you put clothing in front of them they typically do not function correctly....

however if you live on a nudist colony and there is nude on nude crime they seem that they will work just fine..

our tests have shown that the corbon dpx, and the remington golden sabres, and the speer gold dots seem to perform the best..

however pmc starfires do very well as well (however they are not that easy to find)

Really hotshotshooting? do you have a link to a article or anything id really like to read this and all this time i thought the federal hydrashocks in my mag were good!!! thanks for the info!!!

i will have my gunsmith do a picture workup on the tests we did or perhaps redo them with a video link and put them somewhere... i dont know how this website feels about posting buisness links for like my shooting range so i will refrain at the momment.

but we are a gun store and indoor shooting range near daytona beach florida. if your in the area we will deffinatly be able to set up a demo.

well if you ever get any of that stuff up i would love to see it.
yeah i live in California whomp whomppp... :-/

sorry bout the cali (i have relatives there as well)

but i will try to get some info up later this week... time is my biggest constraint

Federal Hydrashoks and clothes

Well, I guess I'm in a world of hurt. I've never run into a perp who wasn't clothed on duty. We have run into a streaker years ago, but if you'd seen him shooting him would have been a blessing and we just arrested him. That being said and Speer Gold Dots and Federal Hydrashoks being the issue round for the S.O., I'll stick with them. With the .40 S&W I'll take my chances at expansion and penetration as long as I do my job and get the shot placement down. As to the PMC Starfire, they reside in my BUG/truck gun, a Stoeger Cougar 8000 in .40 S&W. We had an armed confrontation with a perp in a trailer and the SWAT guys took him out with 5.56 AR's. He had a .44 Magnum. Bad situation, old guy, was a vet and just went rogue, shot a deputy, he will live.

unfortunately the hydra-shock was the best when it was made unfortunately as you well know most law enforcement agency's are stuck in their ways and don't like change... we have gotten most of our locals onto the golden sabre, but the SO and FHP are being slower to change..

What many armchair experts tend to forget is that everyday millions of Americans actually leave their homes UNARMED and manage to get through their entire day without being involved in a shootout. Having a gun with you no matter how small puts you literally lightyears ahead of the game VS most Americans

What I would like to see calculated instead of one shot stop percentages is a calculation that expresses how much better armed you are with X caliber vs not having a gun with you at all.

EXAMPLE If having a 32 with you makes a person at 6472% better armed than only having your fists. Then how much better armed are you with a 44mag 7000% ?

So to this end I'm not really worried about caliber.

the SASR M107 sniper rifle .50 cal will stop anyone with one hit as long as it hits the body somewhere..

soulless that is incorrect im pretty sure if they only hit you in the finger, or other outer extremitys you do have a chance to survive i do agree however that the chances still could be slim if you are not close to medical services...
