I also own a pt111 Mil Pro (9mm version). I've shot this gun for 3 years now and although I carry a Glock27 mostly, I do take the Mil Pro with me on trips when I know I will have to leave it in the car in states that don't recognize my carry permit. I do this because it is more susceptible to being stolen out of my car since I can't carry it on me & I don't have as much invested in it. I have not had any problems with it except the one time I ran 1000 rounds through it without cleaning it to test how much dirt it could handle. The Glock27 didn't fail at 1000 rounds, the Mil Pro had a few hiccups after 900 rounds. Other than that it has been 100% reliable.
Yes Taurus will ship some guns that will need to be fixed. Maybe their rate is higher than other manufacturers. I wish that was not the case, but it seems to be true. If you want a gun that has a zero probability of failing out of the box then buy a... ummm, let's see that would be a... ummm, never mind.
