They liked .357's (A Man's gun, Bobby).

I thought it was a 12ga...... :D

Well, greyhound, that's not as wild as it sounds. Once upon a time, there was a semiautomatic revolver (and, as far as I know, ONLY one) called the Webley-Fosbery. Check it out:

I've got several semi-auto's and only one revolver. That said:

I've never had a failure to feed with my revolver.

I've never had a failure to eject with my revolver.

I've never had a jam of any kind with my revolver.

With a good speed loader my reloads are almost as fast.

Wouldn't feel "undergunned" with my revolver, although I don't carry it often.

Just a matter of personal preference.

my S/O prefers revolvers. The .357 is what she is comfortable with.
I can't believe I'm the only one to pick up on this...

The facts are:
1. You've got a s/o who is into guns.
2. She is comfortable with a .357.

The problems are:
1. She prefers revolvers.
2. problem #2, ah, there is no problem #2.

Conclusion:
You do not have a problem; you have a blessing.

Agreed. CHL instructor here with a number of both wheel guns and semis.

The Wife here created a small problem years ago. Of all the guns above to chose from, she picked the Smith Model 36 revolver (which was my first "carry gun") as "hers". Thus, forcing me to have to replace it. ;) Several times to find one that was "just right" again. ;)

Yea, I've done the experimenting in seach of the "just right" semis too. And understand the "trade offs" quite well. But more times than not when I jump in the jeans, it's still a revolver that gets to go.

CZF, at least your s/o likes guns.

Ruger DA revolvers are rugged. You should be able to
find a good used one. You could pick up some speed strips
and or speed loaders.

With a little practice you can fire 6 shots very fast and
get good groups.
