Stuff you should always have where you shoot.

Bug spray and sun protection already covered. I add in hand wipes/waterless cleaner to clean my hands, too.

I will include some pemetrin for the non-flying biting nasties along with the regular bug stuff. I've taken to keeping some post-bite/sting stuff as I've had a run in with fire ants or two.

A Leatherman on my hip often comes in handy, i.e. in case a screw starts backing out or a cartridge ends up jammed somewhere it shouldn't.

Yep, always have a Leatherman on me, if you have their bit kit, you have Torx and hex bits as well as various Phillips and flat blades.

You all have some great ideas, and I take a lot of that stuff too. First aid, tools, oils, sprays, and all the “goes without saying” stuff.

sometimes I wander into the national forest or some other public area where shooting is allowed. For those places I always bring a 5 gallon bucket and trash bags! Those places are often left a mess with garbage, and I like to leave it cleaner than when I got there. Usually some good brass laying around too, so I grab that as well.

Has anyone yet listed a brass squib rod and small hammer to make it happen?

One thing I do at the range a lot is load testing. So the chronograph goes. Along with most of the foregoing:
A notebook or pad to make notes and keep track of loads
A printout of loads I'm shooting.
A small ball peen hammer and brass rod for iron sight adjustments. (Longer brass rod for rifle squibs.)
Appropriate screwdrivers or tools for scope adjustments.
Extra batteries. More extra batteries.
Appropriate targets (some rifles require MOA adjustments, some are adjusted by compass points).

Seasonally, tick repellant (range seems to attract them.)

Water, sometimes lunch.

Second the trauma kit. You won't need it until someone has a sucking chest wound, and then you'll need it very, very badly, and very quickly.
