Suggestions for a .22 host for suppressor

Thanks for all the input, I've been on vacation for a while so it will take me a while to read through it while I play catch up.

I may be late to the party, but wanted to add two cents. The only silenced 22LR I have shot was a Ruger 10-22. While the shot was whisper quite, the bolt cycling was not. I would find a bolt gun if you want the ultimate quite rifle.

I was quite surprised when I first compared the difference between the two. The bolt cycling is surprisingly loud when not being masked by the muzzle blast.

My first thoughts would be something like a 10/22 takedown, or even Marlin 70 Papoose, given the added utility. Handgun-wise, can't go wrong with the classic Ruger Mark-series.

Likewise, can't go wrong with any of the name brand .22 bolt guns. Marlin XT-22 (I'm partial to it), Ruger American .22, Savage Mark II.

In all honesty, if I had the cash, I'd like to do one of all 3, a semi rifle, a handgun and a bolt gun, but again, for the utility, I'd probably do a 10/22 takedown...

I'm not a Ruger guy except for their 10-22's and MK II & III pistols ...

Yeah it is. I put a POF dictator adjustable gas block on the .300 blackout AR that I built and the bolt is definitely loud with the gas turned on.

And I hope that Ruger eventually threads the new Mk IV pistols. They have threaded Mk IV 22/45 variants, but I'd really like to see the non 22/45 Mk IV heavy barrel versions threaded.
I'd like to see ruger sell frames and let me put whatever upper I want on them. frame is unserialized, it would be easy to do. I have a stainless mkii government upper in a drawer looking for a home since I put a threaded paclite upper on my old frame.

I cut down a 10/22 barrel to 16 1/4", threaded the barrel, and had a gunsmith pal
smooth out the trigger. He swapped out the hammer spring as well IIRC.
Gemtech Outback is pretty quiet on it with SV CCI and is really pretty
accurate with a 2x7 Leupold for sights.

Not mine, but there is a frame/lower for a 22/45 MKIII listed on Gunbroker ... $135
