Suggestions for mauser stock

Does anyone have a suggestion for a well-made stock for a large ring 98 Mauser. I would like something synthetic if possible, but any suggestions are welcome.

How much do you want to spend? A McMillan or Brown Precision stock may cost $300 or more. On the other end of the synthetic spectrum would be something like a Ramline. In between are Hogue, Bell & Carlson, Butler Creek, H-S Precision, MPI, and a number of others. Check out www.brownells.com and see the stocks that they alone offer. You might also want to consider a laminate stock for your Mauser. There are several manufacturers who make those, and they are just about as stable as synthetics while being significantly less noisy in my experience. Boyd's at www.boydboys.com makes a good one for the Mauser.

Synthetic would be preferable and I guess around $300 would be the max i would want to pay. $200 would feel better for me. I want a solid stock built for accuracy.

Don't know if this is what you have in mind, but an ATI (Advanced Technology) stock has a built-in weaver style scope rail and you can get it for $70 from www.cheaperthandirt.com

It's not the prettiest, but it's beefy and does the job as long as you have a bent bolt. HTH
