First post here. This place seems like a very knowledgeable rifle forum. I finally got my stamp for my silencerco hybrid 46 earlier this year. Im really enjoying it, and I've been shooting it a ton. I bought the 46 so I could shoot all my guns with it, including my 45acp pistol, but I'm finding that its much more fun to shoot rifles with it.

I like to have spares, so I'm already researching another can. It will be after the first of the year before I purchase. My question is how much of a difference will I notice in sound suppression, accuracy, size, etc going with a dedicated 30 cal can like the omega 300 over just getting another hybrid 46? I have only been using direct thread no qd mounts. This is the only can I have ever shot. My main hosts for the suppressor is 300 blackout ar, 5.56 ar, and 308 bolt action. Any and all help is much appreciated.

If you want to stick with SilencerCo, their ASR mounting system works with a number of their silencers, over proprietary muzzle devices. They don't tend to back off with use, like direct thread.

Again, if you want to stick with SilencerCo, their Omega 36M allows for quite a bit of flexibility (from 9mm bore size to .22, long and short length).

I have a silenderco omega direct threaded on a Ruger Ranch in 300 BLK. It is extremely accurate and quiet with subs on that rifle. Never mounted it on anything else.

Did you notice any point of impact difference with and without the suppressor?

Never tried it without the suppressor. Bought the gun for the can and the can for the gun. All I did was run a few fiochi supersonic rounds through it without the can to get it on paper and dirty up the bore then screwed the can on and went straight to subs, which naturally changed the POA/POI since they were way different than what I used to break in the bore.

I have never tried a 45 silencer on 30cals or 9mm but I have used a 9mm silencer for 30cal. My 45 silencer lives on my 1911 and seeing how the other tread adaptors are like $90 it's going to stay there.
Comparing a 9mm silencer on a 30 cal to a 30cal silencer on a 30cal, well there isn't much comparison.
The 9mm silencer on a 30cal was a bit of a disappointment. Putting a 30cal silencer on there, that was the sound or lack thereof that I was looking for.
I can only guess how much worse a 45cal silencer on a 30cal would be.

No POI change noticed out to about 560 yards. That's with 2 different ARs (16" and 18"), Omega 36M, on ASR mounts.

POI changes depend on how stiff the barrel is and how heavy the suppressor is. If the combo significantly changes the harmonics of the barrel, then you can have a significant change. It is hard to predict. I mounted a suppressor on an 8" AR pistol (handgun cartridge) and had POI changes of over 2" at 25 yards, while I also have a 22" bolt action rifle with a small diameter barrel that I put a lightweight suppressor on and had no discernible change in POI at 200 yards.
