When I look at suppressors, companies seem to make a huge deal out of the weight or lack thereof, of their suppressors. I'm all about things being lighter, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather have a heavy suppressor that suppresses well than a light one that is even 2-3dbs louder, especially since the weight savings is in the ounces in most cases. How big a deal is weight vs sound suppression to everyone else.

on all supersonic cartridges, as long as the suppressor is ear safe for me (behind the gun), i want them to make it as absolutely light as possible
for stuff like 45acp and 300blk, yeah, max noise reduction

when you hang a nearly 2 lb weight out on a rifle barrel that is over 20" long those ounces add up pretty fast. If you're on a bipod and not carrying it around, it's not a big deal, but trying to shoot offhand, well rifle can's get rather unwieldy.

Heaviest can I have is my Specwar 762. To be honest I hardly notice the weight on a 16 inch barrel.

How does the extra weight affect the cycling of a locked-breech semiauto handgun?

I just started using rifle suppressors, and have a Saker 7.62. It is heavy and makes a huge difference when swinging ARs and SCARs around. On a bolt gun it may not be a big deal but on a 16" barreled AR or SCAR it is very noticeable. My next suppressor will be a lighter, shorter, 5.56-only can.

It doesnt if you have a decoupler/LID/Nielsen device like all modern pistol silencers have ( almost all )
