You guys know that Frugal Squirrels is a white supremacist forum, right?
CJM used to be a mod over there, then found out, quit, and now he's at www.warrifles.com, and a super-mod at www.f15.com of which I am a mod of.

Is that the old owners or the new ones? They have been around since the 90's , and i think they changed hands a few times. I remember reading stuff on their site prepping for Y2K. I never officially joined, but from what I see on the surface they don't portray a neo-nazi agenda. I just used their "survival library", which apparently is no longer available anyway.

That the problem with survival forums, some are great but other have hidden agendas. Anti Government, Racist, or even worse....zombie worshippers.

That''s not really accurate from what I've seen over there. The split that occured, and rightly so, with all of the people migrating to War Rifles was caused by the owner's condemnation of Catholics and their beliefs.

Inappropriate? Yes..... Racist? No.

Added: I'm in no way attacking that forum, but will concede that there is a lot of posts over there, like many forums, that would be considered way out of bounds for THR.

Survival bill is an excellent survival forum. It also has searchable topic archives with lots of information.

You have to register to get to most of the content.
 
Frugal’s white supremacists, I don't think so. Never was, those trying it usually get the BOOT. It is a Christian forum.

Well that hits home, Its officially off my favorites list. I guess I'll check out War Rifles.
 
This was originally my post from 2004. I've been going to Frugal ever since 2004 and I've never seen racism. The only anti-religion I've seen is against Mormons and it was very minor.

My only bad experience was getting a temporary ban for posting about a group buy for Mountain House emergency meals. The owner sells Mountain House himself so he was annoyed that I was letting people know about a cheaper source.

The Frugal membership seems predominantly southern. There's nothing wrong with that but it does sometimes have a different feel to it.

That’s what I thought too, but later found out (the hard way) that such claim is simply a lie to attract people.
Over 50% ( 57% if I remember correctly) of Christians around the world are Catholics, what kind of “Christian” website bans Catholics?
The man that owns FS is a self proclaimed minister and decides for himself who’s Christian and who’s not. He talks about Catholics going to hell and accuses us of having toll booths( Fathers) between us and God, yet he baptizes his “followers” himself and behaves and preaches like a cult leader. Rather hypocrite, considering he’s a self proclaimed prophet as well.
There’s even more creepy stuff I found out after I left, not going to write it here, it’s there with a little google search for anyone who cares.
Just wanted to clarify: It’s not a Christian forum, it’s a John Maniatti forum and his perverted notion of who he considers to be in God’s favor or not.
