(Apologies if this has been posted before) I don't know who coined the phrase, but Peace Through Superior Firepower is on many things these days, inluding this:

That is so sweet.
Anyone else have a neat picture to contribute, I'm sure THR's members have plenty of firepower to promote peace with, some of which has to be photographed.(I know we have many skilled photographers here.)

Actually, the aircraft is designated the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Warthog is the unofficial nickname of the aircraft (although that's what everybody calls it), and the gun is the GAU-8A 30mm.

FYI, I also run an A-10 Warthog website and I sent that sticker (and some other stuff) to the guys at the A-10 East Coast Demo Team. They were nice enough to take that picture for me and sent me back a few promotional items from their stash.

pfffft....funny thing is, i can still manage 15/sec with my impulse and my viewloader....halos are for posers.

15/sec?

19 to 20/sec (never more) here with an emag and Halo.

17/sec with an evlution II (y-board). The EVLII will do +17/sec but only in burst, nothing sustained. The EVLIIs with z-boards that I've tried seem to be on par with the Halo Bs as far as speed.

A 12V Revvy won't even pretend to try...

I've broken more than my fair share of viewloader shells. Cheap plastic.
The Halos on the other hand are made with "better" cheap plastic.

I watched a one hour special on the A-10 this past weekend on The History Channel. Great stuff! When that baby cut loose, the sound it makes is really unique, and watching the rounds hit a target gives "devastation" a new meaning. geegee

You should see one in person. (My first time was at McCoy Field, WI during a CAP encampment as a teen.)

Or, better yet, be the forward observer who just called the mission, and watch as a pair of A-10's swoop down and make a gun run on a convoy. (Granted, it was a training exercise at JRTC, but the gun still sounds the same.)

I was a member and moderator of quite a few PB web boards at one time...Back in my tournament days

Not anymore however...The discussion is rather juvenile as of late.

Im only 25, and the "kiddies" on those boards make me feel like a dinosaur....Every time i go to play, i feel like a fossil...I have all of the BEST gear.....from 5 years ago...

Oh well, too bad these kids cant buy skill as easily as they can buy a CNC anodized LCD angel with their parents money.

I USED to use a Viewloader. The I got smart, and picked up a Tippmann A-5 with reactive trigger. Bit of a gas hog, but I've got two of the most common upgrades (rapid fire, powered ball feed) right out of the box...

And I REALLY need to get a few of those stickers... >
