What's the current lineup of tv shows about guns? I know there is mail call on the History Channel which has some gun segments. So what other shows about guns are still on tv, and when are they on? Thanks for any information.

OLN has "American Shooter" Pretty good show.
"PUll" Shotgun show, mostly sporting clays ranges
"Shotgun Journal" Shotgun show, mostly hunting

Missing OLN

My local cable provider yanked OLN from its extened basic service, and its only available on digital cable:cuss: ! Now I've only got ESPN and ESPN2 which is getting more devoid of gun related shows.

Isn't it amazing how we have whole channels devoted to individual and group sports, an infotainment industry that goes nuts at the Olympics, and endless 'specials' of acrobatic, gymnastic, iceskating, etc. competitions. Yet, when it comes to horseback, archery, fencing, or (heavens forbid!) shooting sports (especially at the Olympic level), there is no time or space for coverage and precious little documentation.

Not that I'm biased or anything, but Olympic beach volleyball, the 100 yard freestyle, or boat-rowing sort of events just doesn't hold my interest long.

The History channel still occasionally runs Tales of the Gun on occasion...and Modern Marvels (which I think is on Discovery) has some episodes about guns.

KC,

Comcast where I live went digital. I tried it and all it seems as if I got was a very large number of music channels. You could not get rid of any of them as they were part of the package. So I cancelled the digital and went back to what I had before. If it were not for my invalid mother lviing with me, I would cancel and go to a dish system.

DISH Satellite (in MANY areas) carries Outdoor Life Channel and/or Outdoor Life Network..........American Shooter, Guns & Ammo TV, and a shXtload of hunting programs. Call your provider!

I used to like Discovery Channel back when they showed A-10s blowing things up and sharks eating things...now it's all these silly shows about people in labcoats

Getting airtime is hard, I know that Swimming is speeding big bucks to get some of the shows on the air, I helped get the money voted in support of doing it. If the NRA (or another organization) put the money down and supported the show, it would happen. It just depends if you have the money to make it all work.

Swimmings has shows on Nickoloden and NBC now to help generate interest in the sport. Duel in the pool against the Aussies was a few months ago, and World Champs was last month. Shooting sports needs to do the same. It will take an investment to make it work.
