Looks like this Gun Shop is putting his own greed in front of our ability to choose where we are buying are ammo.

We can't just "Give them that" people, i know im preaching to the choir but take a listen.

Send an Email or Call them, Let them know how you feel and lets show him how we feel with our wallets and not purchase from his shop. We need to stick together and not budge 1 inch with the anti's or the ones looking to profit.

I heard him this morning and I stepped on my jaw when it hit the floor. I couldn't believe someone could actually think that way. Then it hit me that he doesn't want the competition. It's sad. I am also tired of people wanting compromise. There is NO compromise!

Are you seriously trying to use the coercive force of government to eliminate competition on ammo sales? Throw the rest of the shooting community under the bus for your own profit? I hope this is some kind of misunderstanding, they misquoted you or whatever. If it isn't, prepare to get 'Zumboed'.

Pathetic.

Annnnnnnd, SENT

EDIT: Looks like dogtown town beat me to the Zumbo comparison.

EDIT EDIT: 281-693-GUNS (4867) Internet, do what you will.

Did he also feel the same way for online gun sales and FFL transfers? If Ammunition To Go (Texas company) was closer to me I'd go there in person to buy. If his prices are like theirs then no problem buying from store, I bet's his pricing for ammo is no where like theirs.

I bought both my suppressors from them. I will not be buying anything else.

What kind of person goes on the air and almost verbatim says, " I want this anti-2A law to pass to increase my sales" ?

Going locavore is fine. Obstructing competition, trade, and the constitution in your quest for profits is not.

I went over there to look for a specific XD, and got crappy service and bogus info from a young kid working the counter. I won't go back there for anything. I wasn't impressed at all.

I went to their old location once and was not at all impressed with the staff there. I will for sure not be returning now. What a hypocrite.

If we take him at his word, it's a simply astonishing display of naivete for someone in the firearms business, let alone an NFA dealer.

+1
IMO: This guy is tha largest NFA dealer in the USA. His explanation comes across as hollow and disingenuous. He took a chance and lost when his interview went viral. He has made posts on other forums today "explaining" his actions.

I sent him an email about it earlier today. We bought about 25 guns from him as give aways for a charity shoot a few months ago. We're planning the next shoot and this doesn't sit well with many of us on the committee.

I will say that their pricing has always been very competitive, for both firearms and ammunition.

When someone shows you who they are.... believe them, efforts at spin control not withstanding. Businesses support politicians - this is not the kind of support we need. Maybe the prices are low at this place, but what is the cost of loosing 2A bit by bit?

I will never darken the Tactical Firearms doorway.

His rant instantly reminded me of Bill Carter of the Houston area Carter's Country Gun Stores, when he was President of the Houston Gun Dealers Association, trying to stop the Houston area gun shows to improve his bottom line.

I do not understand why these individuals insist on backing legislation that will eventually end their livelihood and our 2nd Amendment rights.

Just my .02,

boycott and put him out of business - he wants to play "test case", fine - shut him down Texas folks, make him rue the day he opened his mouth

Here's hoping he is standing on a corner holding a cardboard sign begging for change

I pass through Texas now and again and will NEVER stop there and will go out of my way to make sure everyone else I know does the same - he is worse than the regular anti politicos = a wolf in sheeps clothing

Browningguy, I don't know if he called you or you got this email, but Jeremy Alcede sent this out earlier today:

Response to the “owner of Tactical Firearms supports online ammo sales ban”

First, I want to get it out there that I DO NOT support an ammo sales ban. I am never comfortable with any idea that puts “firearms” or any “firearms related item” and “ban” in the same sentence. I am not a traitor to the 2nd Amendment. I believe all law abiding citizens should be able to possess as many firearms as they want. Fear is used as a tactic regularly and after the most recent scare with the UN Treaty, I must admit that I felt threatened. Threatened that they would sign something into law that banned firearms and this ammo deal seemed like an easy compromise. Here, have the ammo deal but keep your eyes off of my guns.

My opinion on the online sales ban was clearly made out of being uneducated in the way that laws are passed. I honestly did not see an issue with banning online sales of ammo. I have never purchased ammo online, even before I opened this store 2 years ago, so I really didn’t think stopping online sales would be a big deal. I said “if you give them an inch, they will take a mile” and I truly did not believe that this was giving them anything. The phone calls and emails that I have received have told me a completely different story. The outraged citizens that heard my radio interview and took the time to call or email to voice their opinion, also took the time to talk to me, to explain to me where I am missing the point. I had no idea how passing something into law works and how allowing online sales to be banned opens the door for that law to be amended to change the type of ammo, or the amount, or caliber… the list goes on and on.

When the comments and emails started coming in after the interview I definitely did not understand the anger. Some people claimed my statement was based on greed, based on profit- and this is absolutely not the case. My prices are competitive with online pricing and in most cases after shipping I beat online prices. I do not gouge our customers like some have speculated. Tactical Firearms is the largest class III dealer in the US, 1 of 3 master distributors of Fiocchi Ammunition, and I strive to offer the best customer service to everyone that walks through the doors. My business runs on volume and the prices are set to drive that volume. My opinion was not formed from fear of competition but the lack of experience with purchasing ammo online and the lack of knowledge of politics.

I am all about protecting our rights, including our right to privacy. When they passed the law that requires the Southern states to file multi-rifle reports I upgraded our FFL to become a manufacturer so that, by law, I was not required to file those reports anymore. I was contacted by the ATF and asked if I would please still file them as a courtesy and I let them know that it wasn’t going to happen.

I have posted contact information for our local government on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/tacticalfirearms and urged our customers to contact them and fight for our rights. The idea that anyone believes that I support anything anti-gun is heartbreaking but this experience has certainly opened my eyes and I have learned a lot in these past 24 hours. I see it now. I feel foolish for thinking there was such thing as compromising in this regard. Matt Patrick with 740 AM has invited me back on the show tomorrow morning 8/3/2012 to clear the air.

I thank those that didn’t just comment on a forum and then turn the other way but contacted me directly. Your input has had great impact on how I view this situation. If anyone else wants to contact me, please do. I am returning all phone calls and all emails to those that requested that I do so.

I'm still having trouble believing Jeremy could possibly be as stupid as he apparently would like us to believe he is.

"OOPS I made a mistake" is NOT acceptable
This person needs to go away and get a job researching the US Constitution - maybe he could teach public school..........sorry, not buying the "I'm sorry", because he got caught

I've purchased from them previously, and recommended them..But I just got finnished writing an email informing them untill they came out and publicly renouced that statment I would no longer support them, or refer them business again, as well as inform any other enthusiaist of their offical stand point on the matter.
He said it all "can't trust them" "give them an inch they'l take a mile" but all he could see was $$ at our expense....I'm going to send Rod Ryan an email (tactical is a sponser) and tell him I'm boycotting his show till tactical renounces it's statment or Rod drops him as a sponser.
