I was looking for some possibilities in protecting home defense weapons (if one were to possess them) and I came across this:
http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/gunsafes/detail.asp?value=003F&cat_id=160&type_id=48562
I know the cynical in many of us would say that this just a marketing gimmick, but I can see a real need to properly store shorter barrel shotguns and pistols for defensive purposes.
The Browning Tactical gun safe advertises a more efficient storage system, but it seems to be larger and more expensive then what I would expect. In a home defense situation, speed and ease of use is probably the most important criteria. A tactical safe shouldn't necessary hold all your firearms, just those that you need at a moments notice. Of course it must provide some burglary/fire protection.
Besides the usual electronic keypad, a reliable Biometric lock system would add to the speed of entry.
I was wondering what other members here have found or considered getting for their home defense guns (if anything)?
Thanks.
