TACTICAL EMERGENCY MEDICINE COURSE
(16 Hours)

This course is designed to go a step beyond the first responder course. Primarily it is for the patrol officer or S.W.A.T. Team Member to enable him or her to provide the emergency care needed to increase the survivability of their partner until the scene is secured and the E.M.S. personnel can enter safely to do their job.

Subjects covered include:

· Basic Anatomy and Physiology pertaining to emergency medicine
· Primary and secondary survey
· Emergency identification and management of life threatening wounds
· Emergency identification and management of spinal injuries
· Stabilization and extrication of trauma victims in a hostile environment

Mr. David T. Bish retired from the United States Army in 1995. He began his career as a Basic Infantryman in 1974. He obtained additional occupational skills as special operations medical noncommissioned officer and special operations medical operations noncommissioned officer. Mr. Bish also served as an Anti/Counter Terrorist Instructor at the JFK Special Warfare center and School at Ft Bragg, North Carolina.
Mr. Bish has held state certification in both Pennsylvania and Maryland as an Emergency Medical Technician and Cardiac Rescue Technician. He served as the noncommissioned officer in charge of the ambulance section while stationed at a military hospital in Maryland. Based on his extensive knowledge of emergency trauma medicine, he was assigned as the instructor for the military’s Combat Lifesaver Course and the senior instructor for other medical personnel competing for the coveted Expert Field Medical Badge.
During the Persian Gulf War, Mr. Bish served as the medical noncommissioned officer in charge of a Forward Combat Battalion Aid Station where he provided the first line emergency medical treatment to combat casualties.


The Course fee is $200 per participant

Attire for training is duty uniform or tactical gear.
