I have (or had -- many of them were lost in a move) quite a few small LED flashlights, some of them quite powerful for their size, and whenever I got to the store I check out more. But, I'm stuck on AA batteries Yes, I know that through Surefire one can get the A123s at reasonable prices, but I have seen only scant mention of A123 rechargeables. I have lots of rechargeable AAs already, and lots of devices that use them.
So, I wonder: is there such a thing as a "tactical rail adaptor" so that a non-gun-specific small flashlight could be securely mounted to the rail on my XD45?
Alternatively, are there any "tactical" (mounting rail-friendly) lights based on AA batteries? I know the length of them makes it slightly unwieldy ...
And if anyone can supply positive information on either of these counts, I wonder if the slight extension under the barrel that the length of a AA light would necessitate should worry me; will blast from the muzzle harm a (metal, decently constructed) light?
As usual, my questions are naive, but I always enjoy the answers
Cheers,
timothy
