I finally got out to try my new Buckmark Barrel from Tactical Solutions. It was a beautiful day, but the wind was gusting really hard at times.
Here's the gun, along with my Taurus 63.
I shot Aguila SE standard velocity, Win Dynapoints, CCI Blazer, Rem Bulk, and Federal Classic. Range was 25 yards. The best group was with the Aguila. Out of about 400 rounds, I only had failures with the CCI and Aguila. Two CCI's were duds, and two Aguila cases got caught under the bolt and bent nearly in half.
The Taurus also liked the Aguila. This group was from sitting position at 25 yards, as fast as I could pull the trigger.
I'm really pleased with the new barrel. It groups pretty well, is very reliable, and it weighs a full pound less than my old Ruger 5.5". It's going to be perfect for starting out new shooters.
While it was a little cold and windy, it's always fun to go to this range. It holds a lot of family memories. I fired my first shot there, had my 8th birthday party there, and the Police portion of the range is dedicated to my uncle who was killed in the line of duty in 1973.
