You are using the old High Contrast theme. We have installed a new dark theme for you, called UI.X. This will work better with the new upgrade of our software. You can select it at the bottom of any page.
The Canon A560 just needs a little more light. Also, back up a little as the image appears to be out of focus. Keep in mind that the camera is noisy at higher ISO settings (although you had this shot set to ISO 200).
I would find some shop lights or lamps, move them around your subject. Defuse the shop lights with tissue paper or something so that the light isn't shining directly on the subject.
Back up, keep the flash disabled as you did for your shot, and try it again. Let the camera pick the ISO and shutter speed. If it still turns out a little dark, try reducing the shutter speed (not sure if you can on the A560) one stop then shooting again.
Bikerdoc, also note that there's a little flower on your camera... push the selector wheel toward it until it shows up on the back display... that helps with close-up shots. I love my canon powershots but I'm no pro like these guys.
