Been on the lookout for a Savage Axis in 223 for a while now. One of the Walmarts was carrying them for $257 plus tax (275 OTD) but when I went to get one they were gone.
Today on the way back from the range I stopped at another WM just on a whim. No big lines. Easy parking. Not only did they have an Axis 223 but they were 20% off at a listed $287. 15 minutes later and I'm OTD @ $245.
Of course I had a flat tire on the way home :D

Not really a black friday deal

But on Wednesday night I bought a RIA 45 tactical from buds for $360. I thought that was a steal.

I refused to go into a store on Black Friday for years

Today, however, I went to Walmart on a whim and lo and behold there was a sign advertising 20% off their long guns. All AR-15 style weapons, including the 22's and self defense shotguns were excluded. I would have picked up a Smith M&P 15-22 if it weren't for that exemption. I ended up with a Henry lever action 22 for $230. I wasn't looking to buy a gun but , what the heck.:D

I went online wednesday night and ordered some stuff from AIM Surplus to finish my AR build. I got the AIM bolt for 80, Upper for 60 Charging hangdle for 12 and Spike's CHF 1:7 M249 barrel for 270. Happy with what I got, but there were a lot of good options out there.

Yesterday I bought a Stack on 14 gun safe from Tractor Supply for 100, regular 149. By the end of the day I had an offer on my old safe for 60, so that was a great upgrade. Last night I was looking some more and picked up a Rainier Arms XTC Compensator for 25, almost half off. Now I just need a find a good priced youth model .243.

I got a NIB 2008 Winchester 70 Classic 270 Featherweight for $550 and twelve new Glock magazines for $16/each.

:D

Dare I say it, I went to Dick's  at 8pm Thursday night.
I have no problems shopping there, unlike others who have shunned them.

Finished thanksgiving dinner at my dad's at 8pm. Got to Dick's at 815p, straight to the ammo counter. Bought a brick of 22lr ammo 500rds for $19 (limit one) and 100rds of 5.56 for $7/box of 20rds.

Was out of there in about 20mins. That concluded my after-thanksgiving shopping :D
Yup, me too. Every year I act as my wife's chauffeur on said event, and to get me out of the way, she sent me to Dick's with a credit card---a risky thing to do. I couldn't resist a Remington ADL in .243 for 400 bucks. I always wanted to try a .243 on whitetail, so this was my chance.

I, too, bought the .22LR, but had my wife and daughter each buy a box as well. I guess that makes me a hoarder! :D

Makes me want to run over to Dick's tonight.

The most BF I do is to look at a few ads in my email from places that sell gun products. OpticsPlanet had scopes on sale and I'm looking for a Weaver T-36 for Christmas. I thought I would check their prices and sure enough the site said those scopes were on sale. The funny part was it was the exact same price they had last week for that scope. I sent them an email saying it wasn't nice to claim you had a sale price when it wasn't any cheaper than it had been. Their response? Sorry you "feel" that way. Yeah that's it. I "feel" not they "lied' and used a totally illegal trap for unsuspecting buyers. It was all me and how I "feel". I've bought a lot of stuff from them in the past. That's over. They never did lower that price. I checked. But they did get me to look around and I found the scope for $50 less than they wanted for it. I "feel" I will probably buy from the other place.

So I work nights and holidays in my line of work. My wife does too.

We both had to work the night of Thanksgiving, so we decided to take off a little early and meet up at Bass Pro. We got in early enough to get bricks of 22lr, and nice Carhartt coats for our older boys.

Then we went home and went to bed, since we both had to work again that night.

I don't mind Black Friday that much, because it is about the only day when many stores are open early enough for me to shop at on my way home from work.

First time out on a Black Friday in 15 + years - LGS had 500 rounds of Federal XM193 for 200.00. Went for the 5.56, came home with the 5.56 and a Ruger SR1911. Been looking for a SR1911 locally for a while, finally found one, but the wife says I have to wait for Christmas to play with it.:(

I found a smoking deal that was already sold out when I came across it. Polish AK47 pistol 7.62x39 w/ steel 75rnd drum and two 30rnd mags for $399.99! I was bummed they were sold out, no rainchecks/backorders either.

Black Friday was a productive Christmas display day for me. While my wife was out gallivanting about town with her sister, my son and I pulled out tons of Christmas decorations and started laying them out in the yard. Spent a couple hours drilling/installing tons of cup hooks on the eaves around the house (changed out icicle light styles this year and decided to make my future decorating job tons easier).

Then spent all day Saturday/Sunday on outside decoration set-up...and I'm still not done.

On track with THR, though, I DID do some online looking about for a Walther PPK/S in .380 for my wife. Haven't yet made up my mind on the particulars, yet.

Anybody out there got any experience and advice on this gun?
