My brother in law has a Remington 700 ADL in .270, synthetic stock. It's four years old. He bought it new, and it has never been fired. I know this for a fact. The gun is in new condition. He never scoped it. He wants to unload it to free up some cash for something else. He's asking $250. Should I buy it?

I'm trying to talk myself into it. I already have a 700 BDL in .270 and it is my go-to deer rifle. Awesome gun and I love it. I've got several other bolts--a Win Mod 70 black shadow in 7mm Rem Mag, a sporterized Mauser in 30-06, both very good accurate rifles. I've got all the milsurps I want at the moment, from Mosins to a couple of SKS's to an AK. I'm good in the pistol department. The only other gun out there I want right now is a quality over and under, which is way out of my price range.

I think this deal is just too good to pass up. The thing is, if I buy it, I can't turn around and sell it or trade it anytime soon, don't want to cause bad feelings in the family since I'm getting what I think is a great deal.

This is a sickness.....I've already started looking at scopes and mounts for it. Talk me out of it (or into it)!

Family or not, I buy guns for an investment. Once It's sold to me, It don't matter, It's mine. MY brother in law is a doof and always selling me guns cheap,( do to he gets himself into too much debt ) and I turn them over for cash or what I want. At 250.00 I'd get it and do just that. I don't give a monkey's a$$ what the family thinks.

I'd do it. And your family concerns about not flipping it for a quick buck are a mark of character.................Essex

at that price id buy it and hang onto it until ya have the cash to make the trade/buy yer o/u. then no feelings are hurt and you wouldnt have lost any cash in the deal yerself on the trade.
