Just thought I'd chime in ...
It looks like most of your questions have been answered. Plenty of places to buy your firearms, no waiting periods, etc.. Job market's not too bad, but I really can't speak from experience since I've worked for the same company for 15 years (which is weird since I'm an IT guy, I know ...)
Traffic's not really that bad compared to Atlanta, which is probably the closest place that has truly awful traffic.
The best sushi (or for that matter, Japanese of any sort) IMHO is at a place called Tanuki in Hickory Hollow (southeast side of the county). They make the best bowl of oyako-don I've had since I left Japan back in '86, and their yakisoba is killer. To be fair, it also has the advantage of being relatively near my home. There's a pretty decent Indian place downtown as well.
The housing situation is very flexible. Depending on your income and commute requirements you have lots of options.
If you do move out here we can all go shoot to welcome you. Which would be fun for me since I only recently discovered THR myself and haven't met any of the Nashville contingent off-line.
