CDNN is selling the duo tone taurus snubby 327 mag for $199. Anyone have any experience with this gun / cartridge? Thinking of one for a woods / camping piece. Largest critter I would be dealing with here in the southeast would be a coyote or large feral dog.

Can you link us this revolver? I cant find it in their catalog.

I'm on the hunt for a sub $250 snub nose in 38 special, but 327 might sound interesting.

it was part of an email I got from them yesterday. I will see if I can post it later. Its the same duo tone revolver that sells for 229.99 in the catalog I have.

Just got my wife one.
It's a fantastic all around gun.
Wifey shoots .32 long for the range.
Shoots 327 mag in self defense.
It's a J Frame size with 6 shots.
Taurus has discontinued making them.
Ammo can be pricey and you're not going to find it in Wal Mart.

.327 Magnum for recoil sensitive

I have two revolvers in .327 Magnum. The Taurus .327M is a 2 5/8 incher and by NM Blackhawk is 5 1/2. Great guns, easy to aim and shoot. I got the .327 because my wife is terminally ill and has a weak grip. The recoil of these guns. especially when shooting the .32 S&W calibers males it easy for her.

The noise of the .327 round is extremely loud, but easy on the recoil. As a 70 yr old, I can shoot for hours and not have my arthritic hands in pain or cramping up.

While the Taurus is hard to find, I was not aware that the model .327 was discontiunued.

Ruger makes the SP 101 and the GP 100 available in the .327 Mag. My next choice is the 4 inch GP.Fuzzball

Stupid California, stupid California, stupid California:cuss:. I wanted one of these when they were $239 and was very depressed they were not on our approved list. Now I am really angry:fire::banghead:

Taurus .327

Anyone know why Taurus discontinued this pistol? Damn...I just found out about the CDNN special today and am not paid until the 1st.

If the Taurus .327 is a decent ( I believe it is a M85 derivative ) pistol, then I would be a buyer at $199 + shipping & ffl. Would be about $232 otd.

While it has a lot to offer, they didn't prove to be popular in the marketplace. Most buyers it would seem don't trust any .32 for personal defense, and so tend to buy .38 Specials or .357 Magnums.

What this means is that those with a wider world view are going to get a super deal.

I believe if you call CDNN Sports first thing Monday morning and any revolvers are still in stock they will hold one for a reasonable time pending receiving your payment.

tempting enough for $200
pricey ammo though, even range fodder ammo
guess I will stick with my old INA 32 S&W32/L DA/SA sixhooter snubbie, fun gun to shoot
(but pricey ammo, even for casual range fodder, don't get shot a lot)
for $200 bucks, anybody ain't already got a 32 probably ought give one a whirl

If I was you I would snap one up for that price. I already have one and it is a great little gun.
Real accurate for a snubby. We use ours as my wife's beside gun. Buying ammo is kinda pricy for it, but if you hand load its dirt cheap to load for. I can do a box of 50 for about $3.50
One caution though, and I suspect is why Federal lowered the power on their 100 gr full power load.
I've shot two boxes of these through this gun. In my opinion its to hot of a load for it. Just my opinion, I have not read of any problems, But I can tell you they are hard on the action and very hard to eject after firing.
The 85 gr federal load shoots great and ejects easy.

Now as far as shooting it. I have shot 32S&W, 32 s&W Long, 32 h&R mag and 327 mag. Out of mine. All shoot great.
Was very easy to train the wife to shoot it.
Started her with 32Longs to get her familiar with loading, aiming and shooting it. Very good load for that.
Then stepped up the volume with the 32 H&R loads, then up to the 327 loadings.
I have made a very serviceable load for the wife using Hornady 85 gr XTP's ahead of 2400. Rips out of this gun at about 1400 fps. Light recoil. A real bad guy stopper for the wife.

Another plus is with the space in the 327 case. You can put together a real nice snake load. Using a 32 round ball and some bird shot.

As for the marketing. Those dummies have no idea how to sell this caliber. A Rossi 327 carbine would be the go too small game gun to go along with that GP100.

I say buy it!!! maybe I should get another... Hmm my Daughter really liked shooting the wifes.

Own two of the little beasts and love them for all the already stated reasons by others.

For me the 85gr.Low Recoil rounds are what get the most use and for carry.

Six shots is a bonus over 5 that are in the other snub guns.

These are also teaching and fun guns with the H&R and Long ammo.

IMO ammo prices and availability. Speer and Federal (ATK) dropped the ball with ammo. Why buy a handgun you can't shoot?

The last .327 Federal revolver to be introduced was the S&W 632 Pro, finally available 9/2012, after 19 months of foreselling. It arrived after both Taurus and Charter Arms had dropped their .327 Federal Magnum offerings, leaving just S&W and Ruger in the market place. Starline doesn't make the brass - apparently only Federal remains in that source - but try to find the empties. And... anyone who claims the rounds don't produce significant recoil needs to try the American Eagle (Federal) 100gr JSP. Still think the recoil isn't bad? Next load some Speer 115gr Gold Dots - they'll get your attention. Pushing 1,400 fps, they haul - nearly as bad as 115-125gr JHP's in .357 Magnum - from a S&W 60. The 94-96 gr LRNFP .32 S&WL's are fun plinker loads, by comparison. I'm 63 - and admit that my days of launching hot loads, like .454 Casulls, .44 Magnums, etc, are mostly behind me, but that 632 Pro can say 'Howdy!' with those hot 115gr Gold Dots. The American Eagle 85gr JHP in .327 Federal isn't bad - but it's box states 'Low Recoil' on it!

I mention this for two reasons... to warn folks that a similar sized S&W can reflect significant recoil and to warn folks who doubt the longevity of a Taurus with hot loads, something to consider as the hot .327 Federal Magnum cartridge takes a small rifle primer. Of course, the S&W is another animal - a very expensive one, in comparison - mine was $703 with s/t locally. That was a lot, actually making it the third most expensive revolver I've ever bought (Behind two PC627 UDR's!), for something that probably will be rendered obsolete due to the paucity of available commercial ammo even now, not to mention the scarcity of cases. Of course, it will load and fire .32 H&RM - which is coming up on three decades since it's inception. That caliber is still available in loaded ammo, components, and firearms. Realistically, I still feel a .38 Special - whether a 148gr target style wadcutter or a +P 158gr LHPSWC, is better protection. You can certainly find the ammo, components, and launch platforms, too. Even my Airweight 642 with those +P's is much milder in recoil than the 632 Pro with those 115gr Gold Dots!

Of course, $200 for a new two-tone weird caliber revolver isn't bad...

Seems like most of the newer calibers don't gain the popularity of the older stuff...GAP, 327mag, 357sig, to name a few. I'd stick with a more common caliber.

As much as I bad mouth the way the 327 Federal was released with a dull thud and then combined with lack of reloading components and loaded ammo, I still enjoy shooting 32's.
So, I had to go ahead and drop $200 plus shipping & transfer for one of those $199 bitone M327s. It will probably never shoot anything but 32 Long or H&R Mags because the brass is made of pure Unobtanium. I like my old Colt 32 New Police revolvers and don't want to burn them up shooting "clark"'s loads so why not a who-cares $200 Taurus 327 Mag? I figure it will take +P+ 32 Long a lot better than an H&R 732 or 100-year-old Colt.
