Anybody have any experience with the Taurus Model 44 revolver? I'm specifically thinking about the 4" model.
I have my 5" 629 Classic, and I'm happy with it. But, I may want to get into a 4" .44 too, but I'm not sure. (I may skip the 4" and just get a 3" Trail boss.)
Either way, the Taurus would be a more economical alternative, but you never hear anything about this gun. John Taffin gave it a good review in his book, Big Bore Sixguns, but that was published some years ago.
I thought that Taurus lockwork was very nearly identical to S&W, but Taurus (I believe) uses a coil mainspring. Any advantages to this (Ruger uses them too)? I understand they're less prone to breakage.
