Does anyone on this board own one of these? It looks like a sweet pocket gun. Light and snag free. I'm new to snubbies, and revolvers in general. Are these difficult to shoot? I know it should be easy to conceal. I'm looking for a good carry gun that has more power than a Mak but still concealable. Anyone with experience w/ revolvers, please chime in.

Yes, I own one. Out of the box it exhibited many light strikes and had to go back to the factory. On return the light strikes were fixed but extraction was by rubber mallet only. Dealer said to polish the chambers. I have probably spent four hours polishing but extraction is still next to impossible by hand. Nickel cases are better but not much. The clips are also very flimsy and easliy damaged. They also do not hold the rounds alligned with each other very well. That makes rapid reloads impossible. The attached photo shows a loaded 625 moon clip with the rounds pretty much alligned with each other and a 905 moon clip for comparison. I bought it because I wanted to try a 9mm wheelgun but I have an airweight bodyguard that I can pocket carry (the 905 is too heavy for that) and an SP-101 for holster carry. For me the 905 is not a keeper even if it didn't have problems i've had with it.

I have a 905. It has at least 400+ rounds through it and is as tight on lock-up as the day I bought it. Accuracy is good for a snub. At 25 yards with my wrist supported I can put all shots on an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper...not bad for a 2" barrel. I have never once had a case stick in the cylinder...clean and easy extraction each time. As for the clips...they are adjustable to secure more snuggly with the various 9mm ammo out there. I find the that the Remington UMC ammo fits looser in so I adjust the clip with a flat head screwdriver. Other ammo like Winchester and CCI fit just fine as the clip is out of the box. I like the gun and plan on keeping it.

I bought one 905 DAO 9mm, fired several hundred rounds through it, and liked it so much that I bought another identical revolver. I have been extremely pleased with both. Nice smooth, light trigger pull. Superb accuracy. No problems with extraction or light strikes.
I keep a 905 in my Safariland pocket holster at all times.
I like the product. A lot.
Perhaps Taurus is having quality control issues (which might explain why some are good and others are problems), but I would not hesitate to buy another.

I had one (sold it) and shot about 200 rounds through it. I had extraction problems, too, and I couldn't shoot it very accurately (probably me and not the gun). Loading and unloading moon clips is a PITA for me. IMO, the 9mm parabellum cartridge is great for semi-auto pistols, but for a small revolver, I prefer a .38 special or .357.

Nope don't have one but had a S&W 940. Great gun, had no extraction problems. It was a little heavy for everyday carry so I sold it and bought a 642. I missed my 9mm's in moonclips so I bought a 940 cylinder and had it fitted to my 642. I call it my 9/642 and with the grips I have on it it hurts to shoot more that 10 rounds thru it. It make for a great carry gun and the extra moonclip just slips in my pocket.

does the 940 use a different barrel than the 640 due to the different diameter bullets (.355 vs .357)?

Yes it does but .002 difference does not really matter at 15 feet

The only complaint (perhaps "concern" is a better word) with the 905 has to do with the moon clips. They appear to be a bit fragile, and I have only found one source (Taurus) for replacements. I bought $50 worth of moon clips from Taurus this morning (25 clips), and I am curious how long they will last.
I always feel better knowing there are multiple vendors for competing products...keeps the price down and improves the quality...a situation that does not exist with the 905 moon clips.
I still like my guns and would buy again in a heartbeat (but two identical guns are about all I need!).

I had the S&W 9mm snubbie and it, of course, was fed using the Smith clips. Well, they just didn't work. When firing +P rounds, the cylinder would jam solid after 3 rounds, every time. And I mean solid, it took a strong "thunk" to open it.
There was something going on where the clips would not keep the fired or unfired rounds (don't know which) in the chambers, as the gun recoilled. They were being pushed back against the recoil shield and staying there, keeping the cylinder from turning. The clips were just too weak, I guess. Sold the gun.
