Taurus's new revolvers

I really like the 6" .45's, ACP and Colt.

The medium-frame Sillhouette gun in .218 Bee intrigues the heck out of me. Makes more sense than the gigantic Raging frame.

I wish they'd chamber the .30 Carbine in something other than the big frame, also.

Of course, it's all moot. None of 'em ever make it on the Cal-DOJ extortion list. :(

.......oh how you tease with your tempting links (that don't work!)

If you could show me a ti 9mm revolver you will have made my week and I would owe you a cold one!

Missed the boat again.

Still looking and hoping for a 6 shot 9mm revolver. I thought that Taurus was gonna do it. Dummies.

"I guess I'm the only one that likes the Raging Bull design. Looking makes me wanna buy another. "

No not really. I start out pre-disposed to dislike huge revolvers but the Taurus is really an eye-catcher. I got to do a bit of shooting with a circa 5" and a 7.something inch one both in .454

Both were way accurate and easy to shoot. If I didn't already have a safe full of revolvers, I might get one of these. They are douwn right dainty compaired to the new Smith X frame, the 50 bmg revolver on one of these forums and the 600 Nitro Express somebody made up.

Wow! I just followed the link and found out they have gone wild with the .17 tracker Blue and stainless variations with barrels of 2, 4,5 and 12 inches ( a 2" 17???).
they are much bragging about the accuracy of their Raging 30- a moon clip adapted heavy duty 30 carbine job with 10inch barrel.I am inclined to believe their claims. when the first batch of .17s came in, I got one of the 6" numbers for t&e and was shooting sub 2 moa groups seven round groups all the way back to 100 yards.
The write-up will be in American Handgunner in a month or two.

the only problem with .30 Carbine revolvers is the powder in the rifle stuff does not treat cyl-chambers well and they 'mung' up to fast.

I have had the pleasure of shooting hand-load .30 Carbine out of a SuperBlackhawk................... and will get a Raging .30 eventually shooting my own handloads

Wonder why - - -

They have discontinued most of the models shown in .45 Colt? About the only Ti revo I'd be interested in would be a very light weight , short, unported big bore.

Best,
Johhnny

Never did see the Tracker in 45 acp in CA, doubt I'll see the new one either! ARGH!

May not buy one, but at least I'd like to be able to make that decision myself :cuss: Thanks Di Fi & Co. :banghead: :fire:

I don't see any porting. What are the ballistics like in a 9mm revolver? Is it any better than .38?

This revolver looks like it has a .38-length cylinder, so you don't even get the benefit of the shorter firearm.

9mm ultralight?

Is the UL series of Taurus revolvers in 9mm the same as the stainless one pictured in the above link? Is that an aluminum model that is different?

Will a titanium one be made? If any of you at Taurus are reading, you will score huge sales of 9mm titanium revolvers -- unported please. Six shots would be nice too. Then it would be the Holy Grail of snubbies.

Another question: Are Taurus revolvers of consistent and good quality? How do they compare to S&W. I have a 686 stainless that is from the 1980s that is a high quality piece. Excellent metal work.

I had an Ultra Light in 45 Long Colt, it was an alloy frame with a stainless cylinder.
That doesn't mean this is the same, but it just might be.
It was a neat gun, BTW.

I am very interested in the two guns I listed. I may have to get both, just to satisfy my lust for powerful snubby revolvers.

Another question: Are Taurus revolvers of consistent and good quality?

I had a Taurus 415T (titanium) .41 magnum revolver. It developed a timing problem after about 300 rounds....

I sold it. That's all the experience I have with Taurus.

I saw the Taurus line at the Shot Show.
I still don't like the trigger action and feel compared to the Smiths.
Taurus guns feel rough is the only way to describe it .
Interesting that the executuves there were from Brazil as would be expected.
i heard complaints to them about the quality of some revolvers from dealers.

I like the ideal of a 9mm snubby revolver, just without the porting.
My advice to taurus, step away from the drill and leave the barrels alone or make the porting a option.
