Taurus Mod 608

Went to a gun show today and saw this Taurus 608. NIB asking $525.00
Its Stainless steel, night sights, rubber grips, 4" barrel And the best part "8 shot 357Mag"

I traded a G-36 and 25 bucks. I'm happy with the deal.

Anyone out there have any dealings with a 608???

Now that I've got this big heavy bear, does anyone know where I could get a good holster for this thing.

I was thinking IWB, or maybe a shoulder-holster....

My buddy has had one for a few years. He is completly happy with it. Several of the guys at my club use them in pin matches for the extra capacity. I'll see what holster he uses. I'm pretty sure any holster for an N frame smith will work. You can look holsters up by gun make and model on www.midwayusa.com

I've have the SS 608 with 6.5" barrel. Got it when they first came out and have put many thousands of rounds through it with no problems. Great revolver.

Congrats on a new great/beautiful gun ! How about a holster from Bianchi? There tough reliable and worth the money. If interested I would recommend you buy one of these for the N-Frame 4" Model Style holster. Hope this helps .

That is an interesting trade to make. I don't follow new production revolvers but this offering from Taurus looks pretty nice, even if it does not fool anyone with its design inspirations. S&W would have had my purchase for an 8-shot .357 if it weren't for their internal lock

I am still more likely to buy a used S&W than a new Taurus but the price point is narrowing between them, and there is something to be said for a NIB gun with an original warranty. I think Taurus has a better lock design too. My impression of Taurus has changed after handling a few of their better examples.

Let us know how you like the gun after you've had time to break it in!
