Greetings all,

Back in 2007, when I first turned 21, I purchased my first hand-gun which was a Taurus pt-140. If I knew everything I knew now I would have just waited til I had saved some more money and bought a gun from a more reputable company. But the attractive price and my being so gung-ho about finally being able to purchase a gun(not to mention the fact that I was fresh out of the hospital from being shot) led to this poor decision.

Anyway, the first time that I shot the gun, the magazine fell out. So I promptly told the range officer what happened and he looked at me like I was stupid so I told him to come try it for himself. The same thing happened to him and he told me to take it to the gunsmith. Well since this was my only gun at the time, I did not want to go for any length of time unarmed so I just took it home and prayed that if I ever needed it, one shot would be enough.

Well now, I own several guns that have all been reliable so I'm ready to take this one to the gunsmith. Before I do, I just want to know if anyone has had this problem and if so, how was it rectified. I really don't want to get rid of the gun because it has so much sentimental value, but I certainly would not trust my life with it.
