Taurus PT111 or Glock 26

I haven't fired the PT111 or G26, but I got curious after reading this thread. I considered the G26 for a BUG, but it's too big for my tastes. I checked out the dimensions on the PT111 Pro from Taurus' website.

L/W/H/BBL: 6.125"/1.125"/5.125"/3.25"

vs. a Glock 19

L/W/H/BBL: 6.85"/1.18"/5.00"/4.02"

There's 1-2oz difference in weight unloaded. I can't believe that the Taurus is going to be that much easier to conceal than the G19. The G19 is longer where it counts (barrel length/sight radius). Those factors alone would disqualify the PT111 for me.

I would recommend what fits you best. The reason I own two Glocks is because their subcompacts are awesome, and their reliability is in a league of it's own. When I did my research before purchasing my first handgun, everything kept leading me back to the Glock 26. I went with the odds, and have never had the need to purchase another brand. I'm glad I did. The G19 is next on my list.

PT111 or G26

I own a Mil Pro, SA/DA it is a great gun, no problems so far. As you can tell from the other posts both are quite good pistols. I think if you posted this question a few years ago almost no one would have suggested Taurus, they have gotten quite good. A Glock is a Glock and they are reliable and well made. They don't fit my hand. It is my opinion that when you shoot a gun that is too big or even too small for your hand the felt recoil is greater just by how and where the recoil is disbursed into your hand, again my opinion. The Mil Pro allows for a good grip with my hand and my pinky has a place to rest. Recoil for me with the Mil Pro is mild, I think almost anyone can handle it, but try to shoot both before you make your decision, for me the most pistol for the money is the Taurus. My .02 cents.
Good Luck and Be Safe!
