In my opinion, Taurus hit one over the fence with this convertible!

Normally the smaller bullet goes a little wild in a convertible, but I don't see much difference between the .38 Spl. wadcutters (.357 dia.) and the 9mm Berry (.356 dia.) 115 gr.'s.

Push button release for swapping cylinders, instead of a screw. Porting is nice!

Not really interested in shooting .357's out of it, but its nice to know that I can if I need to!

Had to swap out the Taurus "Ribbers" grips for some Houge grips, much better!

This is a lot of equipment for the money! I highly recommend!

Interesting. Moonclips only needed for the 9mm cylinder?

Not a Taurus fan but been thinking about their Hunter in .357 just for the scope mounting ease as it has a rail on the barrel. If this were railed I would be very, very, tempted.

They sell an aftermarket rail. If I recall correctly it kinda clamps around the rib of the barrel. I haven’t used one so I can’t comment on how well they work, but I was thinking about this gun and the 454 hunter as well before I started buying antiques a couple weeks ago.

I've used the mount and it is solid. Three or four little plates that go through the rib to screw to a rail that lays on top. I put it on a tracker 17 and with a 2-7 and a really calm day I can get 1 1/2MOA off a good set of bags.

How much "porting" effect do you get when shooting 38 specials ?

My spl.'s are wadcutters, loaded to about 800 fps, so no big deal, shooting 9mm is nice, I am sure it would be noticable with .357 full house loads wich I do not use.
