I've got two Taurus pistols, a PT840 and a PT111 Mil Pro. The PT840 doesn't like Remington bulk box(going to pick up some WWB and give that a try) but it loves Federal and even Tula. The problem was brass shavings coming off the rims and gumming up the firing pin, which almost made me mail it to Taurus. I gave their CS a call first, and explained what was going on, and how it seemed to be exclusively with Remington ammo, and they suggested switching brands. I've yet to shoot it since then for reasons I'm about to explain, but I plan on giving it a shot when I get some more ammo for it, in another brand, of course.
Now, the reason why I don't shoot it as much anymore is the little Mil Pro. I picked it up on my 21st birthday, and it's only given me 1 FTF since. Rather comfortable little pistol once I put a Hogue Handall Jr. on it, and it passes my accuracy tests of hitting a coffee can at 20 feet. The little 9 can make that can dance all day long, no issues. The FTF I had was with my dad's WWB, but when I put in Blazer Brass, it ran flawlessly.
I won't deny that Taurus is hit and miss, my PT840's quirks are proof of that. But I'm not one to quit on something, either.
That being said, I'm always looking to expand my collection, and if I have to sell a weapon to do so, the Tauruses will be the first on the chopping block.
