Taylor’s Tactical is offering this classic 1911 pistol. This provides the general ambiance of a MILSPEC pistol from the World War I era, though it differs in some details from full WWI MILSPEC.

These pistols are preferred for competing in Single Action Shooting Society, AKA SASS, Wild Bunch Matches, based on the iconic Sam Pekinpaw film.

The Taylor’s Tactical 1911 is chambered in .45 ACP, and it can shoot!

It's a reference to part of The Wild Bunch plot.

Pike (William Holden) and crew (The Wild Bunch) hold up a railway station, get shot up and escape only to find out later they were baited with sacks of washers (aka steel holes). Probably not fender washers, however.

What kinda rounds are those? They don't look jacketed... at least they're not copper jacketed ball. Is there much lead fouling in the bore when shooting those?

The rounds appear to be 45 ACP, although the bullets (cast) might be seated a bit deep and over crimped.
It's almost as though they were loaded by someone who had just migrated over from reloading for revolvers.

I shot thousands of lead SWC bullets through my Springfield .45 in IPSC Limited Class. Yeah, there was leading but an Outers Foul Out system took care of it. The crimp on the round second from the left looks a bit overdone. Can't say for sure about the others. I'm more interested in the pistol than the reloads.

Hahaha... yes, they are! Perhaps my question should have read:

What brand ammunition is that?

I don't reload (yet), so the fact that they are reloads using cast bo0litz was not "on my radar".

Thanks for the reply!

:)

Those reloads do appear to have a firm roll crimp. Will probably work OK if, as many do, that gun actually headspaces on the extractor. Definitely not common practice. OAL looks a bit short too.

Sweet pistol.

Hang in there. I read your deleted post.

What matters most is whether reloads work for you in your guns. Since they do, then they are great reloads.

Again, very sweet piece. Thanks for sharing. Nice pics too.

As one of "those guys", I appreciate the photos! I am only just getting to like the 1911 platform. I have always enjoyed the 45 ACP cartridge but until recently, only in revolvers.
