TC Venture Rifles

A co-worker got to shoot one last week at T/C and distributor sponsored/hosted dealer shoot. He was very impressed, and he isn't easy to impress (armorer who frequently sights in all sorts of rifles for customers). He told me he was easily hitting golf balls at 100 yards with a scoped Venture.

I sent TC a email to see when they are expected to ship out. They are now!!
Here's their reply:

They have just begun shipping these firearms. I would check with your local Cabela’s, Gander Mountain, Scheels, or Dick’s. Thank you and have a nice day.

This is probably a noobish question but what are the advantages of 5R rifling? Is it just more accurate or something?

5R rifling : 5 lands and grooves with Radiused rifling. It is supposed to give higher velocities and fould less as the bullet jacket is not pressed into 90 degree angles at the bases of the groves and top of the lands. It gives higher velocity due to a better gas seal for the same reason.

7mm08 would be great! I'm still holding out for the price to drop on the Icon. I've been waiting a long time...

they're out, but all that is currently avail are .300 win mag and 7mm mag. I sell em for $439.99. They seem well built but they are kinda heavy.

Really?!?! My local Sportsman's Warehouse has .270 and .30-06 in stock. They're a little bit higher though, at $469.
