Tech-Sights - are outstanding.

Have them on my RUGER 10/22's - and they work great. The sight picture is bright and the field of view is well outside of the front sight dog ears.

Put them on my RUGER RAR .22 LR Compacts - and they were a little dark, with a narrow field of view that didn't even span to the front sight dog ears.

Because of the bolt, the aperture on the RAR Compact is located 1-3/8" ahead of the trigger, where the 10/22 has it mounted directly above.

Eye relief on my 13" LOP 10/22 is 3-1/2"
Eye relief on the RAR Compact is 4-5/16"

The rear aperture is 1/16th", or 4/64ths.

I wanted the same sight picture and brightness on the RAR Compact as I had with the 10/22's.

Eye Relief:
10/22: 3-1/2" = 56 (16ths)
RAR: 4-5/16" = 69 (16ths)

Aperture:
10/22: = 4 (64ths)
RAR: = X (64ths)

4/56 = X/69
X= 4(69)/56
X= 4.93
X~ 5

So I drilled out the aperture to 5/64ths.

It increased the field of view to just outside the dog ears, and increased the brightness by 56%.

Just Right.

Note: drill it from the front, as the sight is spring mounted to move forward with pressure.

I went through this but didn't like how far forward the TS rear sight would've been mounted. So I elevated things a little bit with a picatinny rail and a CZ Scorpion rear sight. Coupled with a Marbles front base and TS tower.
