I was at the local gunshop and i found a Colt 1911 that i really liked. i already have 1 fullsize 1911 that i love, and i want to get another of course. but one that is a little better size for ccw.
so here are the details of the 1911 i found.
Colt mark 4 series 80
It was blued, with wood grips, and the gold Colt emblem. slightly used, but in great shape, with wear marks here and there, on the normal locations, it didn't look like it had been shot or carried very much.
it had a 4" bushingless bull type barrel. with a full length guide rod.
The gun looked totally stock. no checkering on the frontstrap, and three dot sights, non ns just three dot white dots. it has a small barely there beavertail, would this be an issue for me getting slide bite?
also the safety was short and not very wide, but it clicked on and off comfortabley in a firing grip and positivly. the saftey though smaller than i am used too on 1911's would still be suffecient.
it pointed naturally, and the sights came up easy. i wish i would have been able to shoot it but i am sure that it is good to go.
The price was $675, but the owner gives me better deals on things than the price on the tag, so i am sure that i could get it for $100-$125 less than the price on it.
so tell me all about it, is that too expensive for what it is?
does anyone have one that can give me some guidence?
how do they perform?
Is this thing gonna need alot of work to be reliable? that is definetly not what i want. i want to buy it, check accuracy and reliability and then start ccw with it.
thanks in advance, and i hope that i have enough details that will help you guys help me. thanks again.
