Telling others about your guns.

You have to use your head and common sense. That's a given. No need to tell people specifics or show them things that they don't need to know or see.

But we also have to have voices out there. If all the majority of people hear is what the mainstream media says, then all they will hear about guns is bad. If we keep totally quiet about guns and gun ownership, longterm, we will loose the battle because we will continue to shrink in numbers. We have to have people out their telling our side of the issue to the people that don't know anything about it. If not, more and more people down the road will vote for things that end up restricting or banning our guns.

Be discrete, yes, of course, but we also need to be vocal and postive about gun ownership. Not to everybody, of course, use your head about that too. I just think long-term for the RKBA it will be our undoing if we all keep everything secret and quiet.

Is it a risk, maybe, but I try to do what I think is best for the RKBA, not jsut what will get me through life without being robbed.

I may tell some of my friends about a gun or two. Like other said use common sense. Most of the ones I'm around know I have guns. But it is no ones business as to how many guns I own. The only other person that knows what I have is my father. No one else even has a clue. I don't care if people know I own a gun.

It's not just guns. People with nice harleys (an oxymoron?)get followed discretely, and then the bike gets stolen out of the garage when they are at work. Keep your treasures to yourself as far as you can.

Yeah, that happens here too. There are what we call "river rats" they are the folks who ever weekend go to the Colorado river to play with their watercraft and sand toys. Some of these sandrails and buggies are $20,000+. I know a few guys (including my boss of his $35,000 ski boat) who were robbed the week after a desert trip when they were at work, got followed home. I always check my 6 on the way back from the range. Just incase some pirate was there looking for some treasure he could plunder during the week.
