I've been wanting a 9mm full size 1911 for a while now. I just love the 1911 platform and while I could have bought something cheaper or more expensive, I decided to try a new Taurus PT1911 SS in 9mm. 
I would have rather had one in the blued finish, but I know the finish on the blued PT1911 seems to, well, suck!
I've read everything and anything I could find about the PT1911. {good and bad} But none of it pertains to the 9mm version. Hell I just bought something I've never seen in person. {the 9mm} I've shot the .45cal a few times and really liked it. The guys that owned them just had great things to say. Well, 2 guys, not exactly a mob...lol.
Does anyone have a PT1911 in 9mm? I know Taurus was talking about doing a 9mm forever. Well, their out, I guess in small quanities.
I'm hoping this doesn't turn out to be a bad decision. I am well aware of the reputation of Taurus and I just bought somethng with no track record in 9mm. I'm in the camp that says, if you get a good one, their great! If you get a bad one, it may never be any good.
My PT709 has been a great gun after getting past the, "initial clich"..... I'm hoping for the best, thus my "tempered enthusiasm".
I should have it next week, look for a New Years Day range report! I'm going to take a few hundred rounds to the club and shoot the snot out of it!!
